February 21, 2022 -Millikin University’s School of Education will host its annual Interview Bootcamp on Tuesday, Feb. 22, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Bob and Debi Johnston Banquet Rooms, located on the 3rd floor of the University Commons on Millikin’s campus.
The Interview Bootcamp is hosted by Millikin alumni who are currently serving as superintendents and principals, representing school districts throughout Illinois and Indiana. Millikin students will have the opportunity to participate in interviews with people who are in top level positions in the field of education.
The alumni will help students prepare for what to expect in actual interviews while at the same time providing feedback and suggestions regarding interview skills.
Millikin’s Interview Bootcamp was started by Millikin alumni as a way to give back in their own way to Millikin.
Prior to the mock interviews, current Millikin students will host a panel discussion on topics including:
- The common challenges during the first year of teaching
- Differences when considering employment at large or small school districts
- Tips and information about the annual evaluation cycle for professional teachers
- General tips for the job application process
- What stands out about “great hires”
- Advice about the use of social media for teachers
