February 23rd, 2022- Nikki Garry, Director of Campus Life for BIPOC Student Support at Millikin University, discussed her passion for higher education, commitment to creating diversity on Millikin’s campus, and Millikin’s Black History Month events.
On Tuesday, February 22nd, Millikin University’s Campus Life and the Office of the Provost hosted Terrence Floyd, brother of George Floyd, whose death sparked the 2020 Black Lives Matter movement.
Terrence serves as a board member of The George Floyd Memorial Foundation, Inc.
The nonprofit’s mission is to create a just and equal society, and end systemic racism.
At the event, Terrence stressed the importance of using his tragedy and global platform to promote peace and unity.
