March 1, 2022 – This evening, the Boys and Girl’s Club of Decatur celebrated its 50th year anniversary.
“We see an average daily attendance of 80 kids, and annually close to 1,200,” said Shamika Madison, Executive Director. “The community support is extremely important. These businesses bring exposure and awareness. We are always looking for people to get involved, volunteer, and give back. Serving close to 80 kids a day being a non-profit can sometimes be challenging, so we really appreciate the community’s help.”
Madison also announced that the club is looking to raise 50,000 dollars for building renovations through the 50th Anniversary Matching Challenge. Each dollar given to the club will be matched up to 25,000 dollars, made possible by Bob and Lucy Lindsay Smith.
