Brothers Osborne's TJ Osborne apparently ruffled some feathers when during the duo's acceptance speech for Duo of the Year at Monday's (March 7th) ACM Awards he revealed that their latest single, “I'm Not For Everyone,” was recently “pulled” from country radio.
Backstage while speaking with reporters, TJ expanded on his comment, adding that winning the award was the encouragement he and brother John Osborne needed at the moment. “I mentioned this recently in an article just with us feeling like we're underdogs the whole time, and I think that's part of it is that we don't get necessarily a lot of the love that some of the other artists do on radio, and I'm not necessarily criticizing anyone specifically for that but it's just a fact and I guess that some people are upset that I said that. I said a true statement. I don't know. Our single literally got pulled last week and we just won an award. If you're upset about that then maybe you're part of the problem, but beyond that, we do feel that way. These moments where we get to like get an award and get back up on stage and have that moment, it's like, 'Okay.' It gives us that energy to keep pushing forward.”
Brothers Osborne's next single has not been announced.
The duo have won ACM Duo of the Year three times throughout their career.
