March 18, 2022 – Today, Debbie’s Diner hosted the Decatur Regional Chamber of Commerce’s monthly Table for Ten lunch.
The Table for Ten lunch is a meeting place that gives you a chance to meet, converse and reconnect with other emerging leaders in Decatur and the surrounding communities. It centers around dialogue and perspectives from local employees to start dialogues on what is happening, and also to get people and local businesses involved.
Discussions for today included successes and challenges people are facing in this day and age, and what that means. For example, one of the discussions centered around the foodservice industry’s current struggle for workers. Members of the group emphasized the importance of supporting local restaurants, as well as showing understanding for situations where workers are short-staffed.
“We all have challenges in our jobs and we want to go to our bosses and cohorts with solutions and not challenges. This gives people the opportunity to make connections and understand and they can come and bounce ideas off of each other and be able to take that back and come up with solutions instead of always having challenges.” said David Schrock, Multi-Media Marketing Analyst for the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce.
Table for Ten is held monthly, on either the third or fourth Friday of the month. No worries if there are more than 10 attendees, the group will welcome all newcomers. If you are interested in becoming involved with Table for Ten and their discussions on the community, go HERE.
