March 22, 2022 – Unwanted TVs and select consumer electronic items will be accepted for recycling during the upcoming electronic collection season (April – September), starting with Saturday, April 23, 2022. Registration for the electronics collections is available here. These collections will be held in the parking lot of the Macon County Environmental Management Recycling Center at 1750 N. 21st St., Decatur, Illinois 62526.
Select consumer video devices, gaming systems and computer equipment will be accepted for recycling. Each registrant may drop off up to seven TVs/monitors for a fee of $10.00 each.
Residents must register for an appointment to participate in the collection event. Registrations can be made either on-line at www.MaconGreen.com or by calling the Macon County Environmental Management Department at 217-425-4505. These collections provide residents with opportunities for recycling electronic devices that are banned from landfills per Illinois regulations.
The collection events will be held on the following days: April 23, May 21, June 25, July 23, August 27, and September 24.
