March 25, 2022 – The Nomination Period for “Makers Madness” is now closed as Illinois residents are now being asked to vote on which inventions should make it into the official bracket. You can vote now through April 3.

The competition shines a light on Illinois’s diverse manufacturing sector, which has played a critical role in the state and nation’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. Manufacturers are developing life-saving vaccines and treatments, producing needed personal protective equipment, keeping store shelves stocked with important goods and nutritious foods, and powering our homes and businesses.
The possible competitors include some of the following: A compact shrimp peeler, an electric dive truck, a Workbench Extreme 3D printer, and an Insulated power cable.
