April 25, 2022 – Today, Child 1st Center/Macon County HEALS hosted a press conference to raise awareness about crime victims’ rights and remind the community of the valuable resources and services available. At the corner of 310 N. Water Street, there have been 2,725 butterflies placed in honor of the victims of crimes in Macon County in 2021.
“Reaching and serving all victims of crime is essential to communities. Dedicated victim service providers are working every day to meet the needs of crime victims, yet there are still too many victims without access to rights or services,” said Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe.
The Mayor officially proclaimed April 24-30, 2022 as National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.
