April 28, 2022- The 2022 DPS Career Fair kicked off at Eisenhower High School. The event was held from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm.

Students in 10th through 12th grade made their way to the small gymnasium where they connected with local businesses and organizations. Students were given the chance to talk with future employers about what the business entails, as well as apply for positions.

Several businesses were on location for the event, such as ADM, Amren, Decatur Park District, Mueller Company, Land of Lincoln Credit Union, Boy & Girls Club, and the National Army Guard.

Leslie Risby, Innovative Programs Coordinator for DPS 61 hopes this opportunity will lead to students applying for job positions.

“I am just hoping they will take the time to go to the tables and visit with our business partners that are here today,” Risby said. “Inquire about those jobs and see which are best fits for them. Apply, and hopefully get hired to where they have some gainful employment.”

The Career Fair will continue tomorrow at MacArthur High School from 1:00 pm-2:30 pm. The event will be held in the small gymnasium at 1499 W Grand Avenue, Decatur, IL 62522. Those attending are encouraged to park in the lower parking lot off of North Taylor Avenue. Balloons mark the entrance.
