May 10, 2022 – Are you looking for garden design ideas and growing tips? Maybe you have been inspired after seeing a neighbor’s garden but want your garden to reflect your style. Spend the day exploring private home gardens during the Macon County Garden Walk.
“How Our Gardens Grow” Garden Walk will be from 1 to 5 pm on Saturday, June 25. The six showcase gardens are located in Decatur’s Downtown Historical District, the west end, and Decatur’s north side. Garden highlights include a koi pond, she-shed, planted berms, whimsical garden statues, and more.Advance tickets are $10 and are available online HERE, at the Macon County Extension Office, 3351 N. President Howard Brown Blvd, or by calling 217- 877- 6042. Tickets will be $12 the day of the walk and available at Farmer’s Market Garden Center, 1805 N. Main St. in Decatur. Youth ages 12 and under are free.The Garden Walk, sponsored by University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners in Macon County, supports community gardening projects. The Macon County Master Gardeners are volunteers trained by University of Illinois Extension. Master Gardeners fulfill their mission of Helping Others Learn to Grow by volunteering their time and horticulture skills through community gardening projects and educational outreach.
