July 31, 2022- Soy City Tuner Club hosted its second Cars for a Cause event at the Northgate Shopping Center, in Decatur.
Cars for a Cause gives back to the community by supporting local charities. Soy City Tuner Club hosted its inaugural Cars for a Cause event in June, where it highlighted the Honor Guard.
This time, the Humane Society of Decatur & Macon County was the featured organization, and all proceeds went to the Humane Society. A total of around 700 dollars was raised.
Each month, the group recognizes an organization in the Macon County area.
A variety of vehicles filled the parking lot, ranging from sports cars, to custom trucks, to classic cars, to Decatur Police Department squad vehicles. Children were given the opportunity to sit in the driver’s seat of the DPD vehicle.
In addition to the viewing of vehicles, there were food trucks such as Kona Ice & Taqueria La Perlita, and there was a dj. Attendees also had the opportunity to enter a raffle drawing.
