August 3, 2022 – Millikin announced the August 8 opening of the Campus Medical Clinic under a new partnership with HSHS Hospital Systems.
Under this new model, students, faculty, staff, and their families will have access to excellent nurse-led care in a walk-in clinic format.
Clinicians will be available to see patients from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. E-visits/telemedicine are also available. The university also announced that two of their own School of Nursing Faculty, Julia Auton and Kelly Slade, will be serving as providers at the clinic.
After their initial soft opening to the campus community, they hope to open on a limited basis to the West End, providing care to an underserved area of Decatur.
Millikin encourages all faculty and staff to take advantage of the Campus Clinic, which remains in the same location (150 S. Fairview Ave, across from the DISC), for all ill and well care needs. Patients may walk-in or make appointments. Wait time is usually very low and with the clinic on campus, the location is very convenient. Individuals may also choose to utilize the clinic as their primary care office.
The clinic will accept most insurances, including BCBS-IL. They will also be offering school physicals, sports physicals, flu vaccination clinics, COVID vaccinations and COVID testing on-demand throughout the year.
Pediatric patients who are dependents of Millikin students, faculty, and staff are also welcome.
