September 8, 2022 – Local businessman, community leader, and philanthropist Kevin Breheny was designated as a Diamond Honoree during the 15th Annual Diamonds and Desserts event to honor the Girl Scouts of Central Illinois.
Breheny joins a list of honorees including Kit Paulin, Cindy Deadrick, Brian Byers, Justice Lisa Holder White, Sue Breheny, Shirley Stanley, Julie Curry, Wegi Stewart, Peggy Madden, Kara Demirjian Huss, Karla Miller, Julie Moore Wolfe, Lisa Flora and Tanya Andricks.
The evening featured a silent auction that raised $22,000 for the Girl Scouts. In addition, there was a cookie-inspired desserts competition among local chefs from Richland Community College, The Decatur Club, Cindy’s Delights, 121 Coffee Run, Decatur Memorial Hospital, and HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital. HSHS St. Marys received the Judges Award, while Cindy’s Delights won the People’s choice award.
