September 30, 2022 – The American Red Cross and our partners are working around the clock across multiple states to provide help as people in Florida deal with Hurricane Ian’s catastrophic aftermath and Ian takes aim today at South Carolina with life-threatening flooding, storm surge and hurricane-force winds.An American Red Cross emergency response vehicle from the Illinois region will be traveling to Florida from Decatur this Saturday, to support the efforts of teams of trained disaster staff and volunteers already on the ground, there. Media is invited to take b-roll and photos of the emergency response vehicle as it departs for Florida, along with interviews of Red Cross volunteers, Paul and DeStarling Wilhelm, who will be driving the vehicle.
