History of the Heartland is a not-for-profit organization with the mission of the preservation of our structures and the stories of our people. It is a consortium of over 20 organizations and each May they host historic preservation week with a variety of events. Past “Church events” include a Church Street Church Stroll and Stained-Glass Stories tour. The stained-glass stories event was especially enjoyed by many of the community. It consisted of tours of the inside of 4 historic churches with a guide to tell the story of their gorgeous windows.

This meeting is the result of several members of the community requesting the organization host more Church events. This area has a vast array of Churches with fascinating histories and stories. Please call Ayn at (217) 791-1385 for more information.
