Two RCC Students Place in Top 3 During Competitions at Illinois Professional Agriculture Students Conference

November 2, 2022 – Richland Community College agriculture students recently competed in the Illinois Professional Agriculture Students (PAS) annual conference at Illinois State University in Bloomington.   

PAS is a student-led organization that allows students to build and sharpen their skills through competitive style learning and real-life application.  The conference included competitions in mock employment interviews, agriculture sales presentations, and numerous agriculture-specific team competitions that included general knowledge exams, problem-solving scenarios and current-issue student presentations. 

Breanna Evans, Carter Hitchings, and Hailey Thompson competed in the Soil Specialist team competition and in individual Employment Interview competitions.   

Carter Hitchings placed 2nd in the State of Illinois in the Fertilizers and Ag Chemicals area of the Employment Interview. 

Hailey Thompson placed 2nd in the State of Illinois in the Agribusiness Sales area of the Employment Interview.
