Decatur Police swear in 10 new officers

January 5, 2022 – The City of Decatur and Decatur Police Department have 10 new police patrol officers after holding a swearing-in ceremony Thursday.

The ceremony took place in the City Council Chambers and included law enforcement, family, and community leaders and was presided over by Deputy Chief Brad Allen.

The new officers include 21 year old Cole Boehm of Blue Mound, 31 year old Jeffery Calvert of Decatur, 24 year old Justis Coventry of Teutopolis, 28  year old Tory Owens of Paxton, and 27 year old Nicholas Pulkrabek of Mahomet. Pulkrabek is a certified Illinois police officer and has 2 years experience working in the Mahomet and Monticello police department

Other new officers included 33 year old Kyle Purcell of Bement, 21 year old Eleodoro “Leo” Roman of Chicago, 34 year old Samantha Webb of Champaign, 23 year old Benjamin Woolridge of Sims, and 32 year old Travis Wolfe of Decatur. Wolfe previously served for 8 years as a deputy with the Macon County Sheriffs Office.
