January 25, 2023 – Karla Miller of Hickory Point Bank and Nicky Besser of Good Samaritan Inn joined Byers & Co to talk about the bank’s unique relationship with the program. The Good Samaritan Inn’s mission is to create social and economic opportunities through nourishment, gardening, and education. They believe all community members should have sustainable autonomy and lead a joyful life.
The Good Samaritan Inn has served the Decatur community for 40 years and has two programs that work in tandem: the Noon Meal Program, providing lunch to those in need 7 days a week, and the Mercy Gardens program, growing fresh produce for both the Noon Meal Program and partner food pantries.
Hickory Point Bank has been a trusted financial partner with the Good Samaritan Inn for many years, enabling them to be a trustworthy recipient of donor funds. They have also supported them as a Samaritan Partner, investing in our mission financially as well as donating their time by volunteering.
