March 6, 2023 – Agime Aliu, a receptionist with entrance screening at Decatur Memorial Hospital, is the nonprofit hospital’s Colleague of the Month for February.
Aliu is a Main Lobby receptionist and greets all visitors, issues visitor badges, answers the phone and helps arrange for patient transport if needed.
The hospital states “She enjoys helping people and is always happy and friendly with everyone who enters the hospital. Aliu recognizes that people coming into the hospital – patient or visitor – usually have many things on their mind, and it is part of her job to ease some of their stress by helping them to the best of her ability.”
Aliu received two separate nominations for her patient/visitor interactions.
“She went above the call of duty to help me out,” wrote one nominator.
“She was very helpful and welcoming when I came to visit a loved one,” wrote another nominator.
Aliu has worked at Decatur Memorial Hospital since 2021.
