March 9, 2023 – The Decatur Area Arts Council grant program has awarded financial support to four organizations or events that help promote the arts.
The DAAC grant program supports and promotes events and creative learning experiences offered by schools and other non-profit organizations where the arts are the main focus.
For this grant round, the following participants were awarded funds to support their projects:
- Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre – Production expenses for the play Spring Awakenings.
- Millikin School of Theatre and Dance – Production expenses for the play Exhausted Paint: The Death of Van Gogh.
- Barn Colony Artists – Hire professional artists to teach art lessons.
- Sangamon Valley High School – Production expenses for the play 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
The next grant deadline is May 1.
Funds for these grants were made available through the National Endowment for the Arts, Illinois Arts Council Agency, Ameren Illinois, and Decatur Area Arts Council donor support.
