
March 11, 2023 – Richland Community College’s Adult Education Program will be holding orientations for its free GED and English as a Second Language (ESL) programs.
Orientations will be held the following days:
GED/High School Diploma:
- Monday, March 13th 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Richland Community College
- Monday, March 13th 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Richland Community College
- Tuesday, March 14th 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. Decatur Public Library
- Wednesday, March 15th 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. Richland Community College
- Wednesday, March 15th 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Richland Community College
ESL (English as a Second Language):
- Tuesday, March 14th 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. Decatur Public Library
- Tuesday, March 14th 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. Richland Community College
- Saturday, March 18th 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. Decatur Public Library
The GED classes meet 3-4 days a week over an 8-week session. These courses help students prepare for the GED test’s 4 subjects: Reasoning Through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies.
The ESL courses help students improve their English speaking, reading, and writing skills for academic or employment purposes. Classes for both programs are held on campus or at the Decatur Public Library.
