April 12, 2023 – The Decatur Area Arts Council (DAAC) is bringing the Decatur Craft Beer Festival to Central Park in Downtown Decatur.

Decatur Craft Beer Festival (DCBFest) will be taking over Central Park on Saturday, May 13, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. While the event is returning to downtown, this will be the first time it is hosted in Central Park. Jerry Johnson, executive director of the DAAC, explained, “The Arts Council is always excited to host events in our downtown neighborhood and Central Park is such a cozy location with plenty of room for all we have planned.”

For the past two years, the DAAC had partnered with the Decatur Parks Foundation to present the Devon on Tap at the Devon Lakeshore Amphitheater. With the move back downtown, the event will be managed solely as a fundraiser for the DAAC.

The event will feature brewers from all over the Central Illinois region serving samples of their own beers. Festivities will include live music, visual artists, food trucks, games, and more. Tickets are just $35 each and include a souvenir glass and eight tasting tickets. On Saturday, there will be a designated driver special (for non-beer-drinking guests only) for just $10.

A VIP event will be held on Friday, May 12 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. inside the DAAC. At the VIP event, guests will sample rare and hard to find beers and ciders not available at the festival along with delicious hors d’oeuvres and live music for $75 each. VIP tickets also include entrance into Saturday’s festival, an exclusive VIP area with unique beers and snacks during the festival, access to indoor restrooms and extra tasting tickets. Tickets are limited.
