June 26, 2023 – Heritage Behavioral Health Center will host its second annual Knocking Out Stigma Dodgeball Tournament, which supports suicide prevention efforts in Macon and DeWitt counties, on July 15 at the Decatur Family YMCA.
Community members of ranging ages are encouraged to create teams and compete against each other in an afternoon of dodgeball, all in an effort to minimize mental health stigmas. Teams must have a minimum of six players, with four alternates allowed, and all participants must be at least 10 years old. Pre-registration is required, which includes a contact form to be completed by the team’s captain, a YMCA waiver for each team member and a $50 fee. Funds will support Heritage’s services in and around Macon County.
The tournament will be double-elimination style and will feature concession and T-shirt sales. Balls fly at 1 p.m., and DJ Dree will be on-site mixing music throughout the day.
