July 6, 2023 – The Decatur Family Y’s annual Backpack Attack will join Crossing Healthcare this year for their Jumpstart Back-to-School Clinic to get area students ready for the new school year.
K-6 grade students in need of pencils, notebooks and more are welcome to pick up a backpack stuffed with school supplies required by area school districts on Saturday, August 5 from 9 a.m.-noon at the Decatur Family YMCA, Old King’s Orchard Community Center or Johns Hill Magnet School. Children must be present to receive supplies and are welcome to explore services provided by various community resources who will be on-site.
At the same date and time, Crossing Healthcare will host a back-to-school clinic, featuring walk-in free school physicals as well as eye exams at their clinic. Students must be with a legal guardian, and no sports physicals will be available. If a student is in need of a sports physical, they can schedule one during Crossing’s regular hours.
