July 10, 2023 – Ball runner training for the USTA/Ursula Beck Pro Tennis Classic will be held Tuesday, July 18th from 10 am-11:00 am at the Fairview Tennis Center.
Ball runners’ are the attendants who run on the court and retrieve wayward tennis balls without interrupting a match.
Training is available For Youth 12 and up and participants will be able to acquire community service hours. Participants need to be available on August 5-6th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The USTA/Ursula Beck Men’s Pro Tennis Classic began in 1999 and has developed into one of the premier tournaments on the United States Tennis Association Professional Circuit. Each year, 70 players from over 20 countries participate in the seven-day event, battling it out for ATP professional ranking points. Top players from the Decatur Futures have gone on to compete at all four Grand Slam tournaments against no. 1 Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
