July 17, 2023 – A local Real Men Wear Pink campaign will host its second annual ‘Strike Out Cancer’ softball tournament at Rotary Park on August 12.

The co-ed tournament raises funds to support the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer research and is hosted by Macon County’s Dan Diskey. Since its first campaign in October 2020, Dan Diskey: Real Men Wear Pink has raised over $60,000 to benefit a nationwide fight against breast cancer, and Diskey said his goal for this year is $30,000.

“When asked about my ‘why,’ I often talk about the women in my life and how they have made such an impact; specifically, my mother, my aunt as a breast cancer survivor and all my mentors, friends and colleagues who have shared their stories related to this disease,” said Diskey, a Global Commercial Manager for ADM, in a press release.  “For me, it becomes a matter of responsibility to give back to a cause that disproportionally affects the women in our lives.”

Registration is $350 per team and each team is guaranteed two games of play time. In addition to the tournament, concessions and a 50/50 raffle will be available. To register, email realmenwearpink.diskey@gmail.com or click HERE for more information.
