Registration now open for GED, ESL classes at Richland Community College

Jul 31, 2023 | 1:55 PM

July 31, 2023 – Starting August 1, Richland Community College will hold orientation and registration sessions for its adult education program’s high school diploma (GED) and English as a Second Language (ESL) courses.

RCC’s free adult education program is accepting new students this fall, and an onsite orientation is a required first step for locals interested in enrolling in a GED or ESL class. GED courses meet three to four days per week over eight weeks and prepare students for the national GED test’s four subject areas. The ESL program helps students improve their English speaking, reading and writing skills for academic or employment purposes. Both types of classes are either held on RCC’s campus or at the Decatur Public Library.

Interested students—new and returning—must attend an orientation session in August, where they will learn more about the course and take a placement exam. Registration is required. Below is a full list of offered dates by class type.
