August 1, 2023 – The annual Stone Thrown Forward Memorial Golf Outing, sponsored by Dale’s Southlake Pharmacy and Colee’s Corner Drugs, is set for Saturday, August 26.
The annual golf tournament honors Forsyth native Kyle Stone, who passed away from a cardiac condition at 32 years old in 2014. Funds raised from the event provide cardiac screenings for local middle and high school student-athletes, like Stone was, and allow local community organizations to provide CPR training. This year’s benefit will take place on August 26 at the Country Club of Decatur.
Teams of four can register to play by calling Lauren Young at 217-620-2354, and event sponsorships are also available. Since the memorial foundation has been established, over $50,000 has been raised for 400 local athletes to be screened for cardiac diseases, with 10% referred for further testing.
