
August 24, 2025- This week, one of the biggest outdoor agriculture trade shows returns to Decatur.
For over 70 years, the Farm Progress Show has connected farmers from across the globe with agriculture’s leading companies. With hundreds of exhibitors, producers can engage with the latest farm products and the specialists who developed, tested, and designed them. Even if you are not a farmer, the sheer size and scope of the technology and innovation on display is something to behold.
Anyone can attend the Farm Progress show, taking place Tuesday, August 26th through Thursday, August 28th at Progress City next to Richland Community College. Hours are 8 am to 4 pm each day. The cost is $25 for adults, $10 dollars for ages 17-13 and kids under 12 are free. Adults can purchase tickets in advance ONLINE for $15.
Some things to expect include 90 acres of exhibit space, over 500 exhibitors, and 360 acres of field demonstrations. Some exciting and fun things to see include canine trick demonstrations and dock dog diving, autonomous tractor demonstrations, explorable equipment displays, ride and drive events, drone demos, interactive experiences and demonstrations for all ages.
Parking for the show is free adjacent to the show site and is identified by different colored row markers. Remember the row number where you park so you can find your vehicle after the show. But the easiest option is to use the free shuttle bus.

From the transit center, you can take the water line to the Hickory Point Mall to catch the special event shuttles to Farm Progress Show. - Hickory Point Mall Special Event Shuttles
Two busses are running every half hour from Hickory Point Mall to the Farm Progress Show. This service will run 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday. The Bus entrance on the grounds is Entrance 9.
While at the show, you can text “FPS” to 20505 for updates or download the Farm Progress Show app, available free for Apple and Google Play.
If you are not attending the show, the Decatur Police are reminding residents to avoid the Reas Bridge to Mound Rd. area, especially along Brush College. In general, staying north of the Pilot and south of Faries Parkway will help you avoid congestion.
