September 19, 2023 -The DeWitt, Macon & Piatt Extension Master Gardeners & Horticulture, University of Illinois Extension DeWitt, Macon and Piatt Counties and UI Extension Dewitt Macon & Piatt Counties Master Naturalists are hosting Monarch Madness this Saturday, September 23rd. The event, at Rock Springs Nature Center, was created to highlight the habitat, life cycle, and importance of the Monarch butterfly.
Organizers say the event will be filled with fun and educational activities, including arts & crafts, games, butterfly yoga, a virtual reality butterfly simulation, a monarch life cycle obstacle course, a butterfly wing selfie station, balloon animals, and best of all, an area to watch monarchs be tagged and released.
The event will take place from 2pm to 4pm at Rock Springs Nature Center at 3939 Nearing Ln. The event is free and open to the public.
