September 24, 2023- Northeast Community Fund held its annual Farm To Fund dinner on Merchant Street in downtown Decatur on Saturday, September 23rd.
Around 300 community members, dressed in their “downtown chic” were treated to a sundown, family style dinner. The dinner was served on a never-ending tablescape, that was adorned with mismatched china and cutlery, mason drinking jars, wild floral pickings, blue-stripe cloths, and homemade pies.
The evening included cocktails, live music, and an auction.
Over $40,000 was raised from the fundraiser.
“I am excited and utmost humbled that our community came out in full force to support Northeast Community Fund for a fifth year in a row because of our amazing sponsors, attendees, and our volunteers,” Paul Lidy, Director of Development & Fundraising said. “Thank you to the entire Decatur community for your support. Because of the community’s generosity, we raised over $40,000”.
A final total is being finalized as the link to the website is still live for one more week.
All proceeds will benefit Northeast Community Fund.
“The Northeast Community Fund has been serving the most vulnerable Macon County residents for the last 54 years. What began as a small food pantry has grown into a critical social impact organization.”
