October 9, 2023 – The City of Decatur, Maroa-Forsyth High School Bass Fishing Team, Decatur Area Convention & Visitors Bureau of Illinois, and Village of Forsyth are sponsoring the first annual 2023 Fall Frenzy High School Bass Fishing Tournament on Lake Decatur October 14 & 15.
The event will be a 2-day tournament and the final results will be based on the two-day accumulated weights. The tournament is open to high school anglers from around the state and will be limited to 30 boats with 2 anglers on each boat. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for total weight over the 2-day tournament and Big Bass will be awarded each day.
Team bass fishing became an instant favorite among Illinois high school students after it was incorporated into the ranks of official IHSA-sanctioned school sports in 2008.
