October 19, 2023- Scareport-Run the Runway, hosted by the Decatur Park District, returns to Decatur Airport this Saturday, October 21st. The course includes a 1/2 mile Critter Crawl and a 5K/10K run on the lighted runway.
The public is invited to dress up in their best Halloween costume, and run whichever course best suits them.
Check-in is at 5 pm at the Decatur Airport Maintenance Building.
1/2 Critter Crawl (Kid’s Run/Walk):
- Race time: 6 pm
- $35 race fee
- Age: 12 & Under
5K Run/Walk, 5K Run, 10K Run
- Race time: 6:30 pm
- $40 race fee
The course is wheelchair accessible and baby stroller friendly. For security reasons, no bikes, rollerblades, inline skates or pets are allowed.
Each runner will receive two drink tickets and a meal ticket. Runners under 21 years of age will receive 2 water/Gatorade tickets and 1 meal ticket.
There will be an after party with a LaGondola Spaghetti dinner and music from Spin Masters DJ & Entertainment. There will also be prizes in all age divisions and awards for best costume.
The race will benefit educational programming and student outreach at Decatur Airport.
