LISTEN: Community Foundation of Macon County announces “That’s What She Said – Macon County” event on April 6th

October 23, 2023 – The Community Foundation of Macon County has announced “That’s What She Said – Macon County” on April 6, 2024 at The Lincoln Theater. Hickory Point Bank & Trust is the presenting sponsor for the new event and Hickory Point Bank’s Karla Miller will serve as the Emcee.

“That’s What She Said” originated in 2013 in Champaign-Urbana and has grown into a beloved annual community event. The show has since expanded into cities like Bloomington-Normal, Peoria, St. Louis, and Indianapolis. The event is described as a platform where everyday women to share their extraordinary stories. Each story shared on the She Said stage is also featured on The She Said Project’s YouTube Channel.

The 10 speakers for the inaugural TWSS-Macon County event are:

Laura Cornille-Cannady, Tina German-Roberts, Amber Hooker, Linda Huck, Jamie Muscato, Dr. Dana Ray, Marie Shaffer, Sheryol Threewit, Katie Warnick and Stacey Young.

Tickets will be $35 and go on sale in December and the funds raised from the event benefit the She Gave Women’s Giving Circle and will be granted back into Macon County. At the intermission of the first TWSS-Macon County, over $20,000 will be awarded in community grants from the She Gave Women’s Giving Circle.
