November 20, 2023 – HSHS St. Mary’s Foundation will be honoring loved ones Thursday with the lighting of the Christmas Star on top of the Hospital.
After several years of hosting virtual events due to COVID-19, The HSHS St. Mary’s Foundation will once again host a live Star Lighting ceremony in-person in the main lobby of the hospital on Thursday, November 30 at 6 p.m.
The ceremony will include prayer and song as well as a reading of the names of those being honored.
The star, which stands 18 feet tall and is 18 feet wide and has 700 lights, was provided as a gift in the early 1990s by the late Dr. John “Rocky” White, of Surgical Specialists of Central Illinois.
