Brix family farm continues tradition of Christmas light display

Dec 13, 2023 | 8:12 AM

December 13, 2023 – Once again this year, the Brix family D & D farm will open to the public for their spectacular Christmas light display.

Since 2018, David & Dawn Brix and family have been hosting a Christmas light display at their home at 4109 Garver Church Road. The drive-through show, which is free to the public (Donations are encouraged), includes over 250,000 lights and displays. As an added touch, you might see Santa, Mrs. Claus, an elf or the Grinch during your drive and the kids may receive a special treat! Viewers only need to turn their headlights down to parking lights and tune into 89.3 FM and the music will start instantly with the lights blinking and moving with the rhythm of the songs.

Toward the end of the drive, you will see a donation box asking for donations. You can place cash in the box, or you can even scan one of the two QR Codes on the signs with Paypal and Venmo. The proceeds of all funds will go toward the bulb replacements for next year’s show, as well as planned expansions of the show, three scholarships at Richland Community College, and other organizations they support.

The light show is open 7 days a week, Sunday through Thursday 5 pm to 9 pm, and Friday and Saturday 5 pm to 10 pm. This weekend, on December 16 and 17, Diggity Dawgs food truck will be on-site selling corn dogs, chili cheeseburgers, chili cheese fries, vegetable beef soup, cookies, hot cocoa, coffee, water, and more. There will also be photo opportunities in a sleigh with Santa from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm.

If you choose not to do the drive-through experience, parking is allowed in the field across from the house, however, if the field is too wet, the public can park alongside the road to watch. Just be sure not to block traffic.
