December 18, 2023 – Tatiana Garcia, LPN, Orthopedic Nursing, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, is the nonprofit hospital’s Colleague of the Year.
“The most rewarding part of my job is helping our patients accomplish their goals after surgery,” Garcia said. “Plus being part of a great team!”
In a statement, DMH stated “Garcia gives input, shares ideas, and looks for ways to improve unit processes. She never hesitates to help others, whether patients or co-workers, and she always has a positive attitude. ”
“Tatiana was so willing to take a moment and not only take my blood pressure but all my other vitals and ask me questions,” wrote her nominator. “I was so thankful she took the time and was concerned about my safety. That is just one of her many attributes.”
Garcia has worked for Decatur Memorial Hospital since 2018.
The colleague of the year is selected from 10 individuals previously named colleague of the month from January through November of the year. Garcia was the October DMH Colleague of the Month.
