January 15, 2024 – Baby TALK will receive more than $1.2 million in federal support for their Early Head Start programming. This renewed federal investment was awarded by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.
The funding announcement was made by Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski. “Early Head Start programs provide enormous support to our youngest students and their families,” said Congresswoman Budzinski. “Today, I’m excited to announce that the Baby TALK Head Start program in Decatur will be receiving more than $1.2 million in federal funding to continue serving children across Macon County.”
Head Start programs promote school readiness for young children from birth to age five by providing programming to enhance cognitive, social and emotional development. Baby TALK, Inc. is an educational non-profit organization based in Decatur that guides home visitors, teachers, social workers, family support specialists and community partners in nurturing school readiness and optimal child development in their community by providing opportunities for infants, toddlers, and their caregivers.
