February 20, 2024 – The Decatur Park District will host its 13th Annual 4V4 Indoor Futsal Tournament this Saturday, February 24th, at the Decatur Indoor Sports Center. This tournament will bring together teams from across Illinois and the surrounding states, ranging from 8U to adult divisions.
What is Futsal? Futsal is a type of soccer that is played indoors on a much smaller court. The smaller field size ensures a game of Futsal is fast-paced and more intense, with more opportunity for goal scoring.
The tournament follows the 4v4 format, with teams having a roster of 8 players and playing with 3 players on the field along with a goalie. The games will adhere to adjusted futsal rules and consist of 12-minute halves on shortened fields.
The event is presented by Main Place Properties, and according to Colin Bonner, Director of MidState Soccer Club, it is a fantastic opportunity for Midstate players to compete in their hometown.
