Macon County Clerk’s Office Looking for Election Judges

February 22, 2024 – The Macon County Clerk’s Office needs Election Judges for the upcoming March 19, 2024 General Primary.

Macon County Clerk Josh Tanner said that judges must be assigned by Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Election Judges are paid by the County for the day’s work. Generally, that amount totals around $150.  In order to qualify

Election judges must:

  • Be registered to vote
  • Attend a two-hour training prior to Election Day
  • Set the polling place up Monday before Election Day
  • Work all day (approximately 5:00 a.m. until after polls close at 7:00 p.m. and ballots have been returned to the County Clerk’s Office) on Election Day.
