February 25, 2024 -Time is running out to apply for the Community Foundation of Macon County’s Places & Neighborhoods fund, a new $100,000 funding opportunity that is part of the $1 million grant funding collaboration, Moving Forward, between the CFMC and Decatur Earthmover Credit Union.
Minimum grants awarded per organization are $2,500, and maximum grants are $25,000. The deadline to apply is February 29. Recipients will be announced March 12 at 8:05 AM on Byers & Company.
Places & Neighborhoods grants will be awarded to not-for-profit organizations and other eligible agencies serving Macon, Piatt, and Moultrie counties as well as the Paris, IL community.
The purpose of this grant program is to encourage and support the work of neighborhood groups, nonprofits, schools, churches, and government organizations trying to preserve and/or improve the quality of life in the areas they serve. Grant requests should focus on building and sustaining a high quality of life in neighborhoods or a specific community. Priority will be given to projects that have a long-term impact on the community and its residents, promote community participation, and/or encourage public art, and community engagement in the humanities.
