February 27, 2024 – Ameren Illinois is inviting the public to attend an open house on Monday, March 4 in Decatur to learn more about the company’s plans to improve energy service reliability and prepare for an equitable transition to clean energy.
The Open House will provide the general public with an opportunity to hear first-hand from Ameren Illinois about the company’s plans and offer feedback ahead of Ameren’s multi-year electric grid filing with the Illinois Commerce Commission.
The hearing on Monday, March 4th will be held from 5:30 to 7pm at the Ameren Illinois Decatur office at 270 S. Main St.
Under Illinois’ Climate and Equitable Jobs Act, a state law passed in 2021 that seeks to transition Illinois to 100% clean energy by 2045, Ameren Illinois is required to file a multi-year plan to strengthen the reliability and resiliency of the electric grid and prepare for an equitable transition to clean energy. The plan includes initiatives to facilitate the adoption and development of local, clean energy generation, promote the long-term growth of cleaner energy, and electrify the downstate Illinois economy.
