April 3, 2024 – Applications are now being accepted for the FBI Springfield’s Teen Academy that will be held Wednesday, August 7th at the FBI Springfield Field Office.

According to the Springfield FBI, The Teen Academy provides “an opportunity for high school students to develop leadership skills and investigate the world of law enforcement by engaging in team-building experiences, discovering careers in law enforcement, and learning to communicate and collaborate across cultures.”

FBI staff will lead discussions and interactive sessions focused on lessons about federal violations the FBI investigates such as cyber, counterterrorism, violent gangs, and fraud. Activities will include hands-on forensics work and more.

“Teen Academy gives high schoolers the chance to interact with FBI personnel and develop a better understanding of what we do…” said FBI Springfield Field Office Special Agent in Charge David Nanz.

Students must go online to access the application. The application deadline is May 31. Students will be notified no later than June 28 if they are selected to participate.
