April 4, 2024 –In celebration of National Poetry Month, the Decatur Area Poets will host a poetry night Saturday, April 20th from 1pm to 2:30pm in the Madden Auditorium in the Decatur Public Library.
The event will feature readings from local poets, including Dr.Carmella Braniger, Sandra Brown, Ronald Lybarger, Jim Wilkerson, and several more.
National Poetry Month, inaugurated by the Academy of American Poets in April 1996, celebrates poets’ integral role in culture and underscores the significance of poetry.
The event is free and open to the public.
