FBI Springfield to host job fair May 15

April 17, 2024 – The FBI Springfield will host a job fair on May 15, 2024, from 2:30-6:30 pm at the Springfield field office at 900 East Linton Ave., in Springfield, IL.

Attendees will have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with FBI Springfield employees from various areas of expertise including information technology, cyber, intelligence analysis, evidence response, SWAT, and recruiting.

“Many threats the FBI works to mitigate result in complex investigations requiring a workforce possessing a variety of experience and skill sets,” said FBI Springfield Special Agent in Charge David Nanz.“Additionally, diversity is an FBI core value and we are committed to an inclusive environment where all people, perspectives, and experiences are valued. Having individuals with a wide variety of backgrounds and knowledge of cultures and languages helps the FBI better understand our increasingly complex and global threat environment so we can conduct more effective investigations into national security and criminal threats. It also helps us engage more effectively with the diverse public we serve.”

The FBI said it looks for highly qualified candidates with a broad range of education, experience, and skills. While the public is most familiar with the position of special agent, the Bureau has an extensive list of other career opportunities to consider:

• STEM – computer scientist, information technology, forensic biologist, cryptanalyst

• Business/Administration – human resources, program and records management, compliance,

information management

• Arts/Communications – public affairs, community outreach, forensic anthropology, evidence photography, graphic design

• Finance/Accounting – financial operations, forensic accounting, budget analysis, forensic

financial research

• Other career paths – legal, medical and counseling, police and security, surveillance, foreign language, victim services
