April 22, 2024 – Individuals with dementia and their caregivers will be able to enjoy an afternoon at the movies this Thursday the 24th with the first-ever Dementia Friendly Movie Matinee at the Lincoln Square Theatre. The event was made possible by Dementia Friendly Decatur.
The matinee will feature the classic GREASE and doors will open at 1:00pm with the movie beginning at 2:00 pm.
The Matinee is designed for people with dementia and their caregivers and families and will provide a well-lit theatre allowing for movement as needed during the show. In addition, all seating will be at tables to allow for easier communication and handling of refreshments. In addition to the movie, there will be a photo booth, trained dogs from Pawprint Ministries, and concessions available for purchase.
