May 8, 2024 – The Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations is inviting the public to attend a Public Safety Panel Discussion at the Decatur Public Library on Saturday, May 11th.

Officials from the Macon County Sheriff’s Office and Decatur Police Department will participate in a panel discussion and the format will allow citizens to ask questions of the police and sheriff’s officials directly. Caryn Eisert of WAND-TV will serve as the moderator.

“In any survey of our neighborhoods, safety is always the number one concern,” stated Kathy Williams, CONO President, at a CONO meeting. “Our organization wants to assist people in getting accurate information and answers to their concerns during this panel discussion,” she continued.

The event will be from 2 pm-3:30 pm in the Children’s Auditorium on the second floor of the library. Attendees will have a chance to win one of two security doorbell cameras and one of two NOAA weather radios as door prizes.

The event is free and open to the public.
