United Way launches “Change making Change” round up campaign

May 7, 2024 – The United Way of Decatur and Mid Illinois has launched a new campaign that makes it easier than ever to give.

The “Change Making Change” round-up campaign allows people to connect an existing debit or credit card and then donate the rounded-up amount of every purchase.

To sign up, click HERE. Then link an eligible credit or debit card that you’d like to use for your round-up donations. Purchases made on that card will round up to the next dollar as change that is donated. The “Round-Up” change from your card purchases is then donated on the last day of each month to the United Way of Decatur and Mid Illinois.

Debbie Bogle of the United Way of Decatur and Mid Illinois says that event a small amount of change can make a big change. “With a mere $4.43, you can provide a child with a full day of quality childcare. Just $5.52 ensures a senior doesn’t go hungry. For only $37.50, you can furnish a family in need with essential household items such as beds, pots, pans, and towels.”

The system also allows you to set up a monthly donation cap amount from $10-$99 dollars.
