May 16, 2024 -Registration is open for Girl Scouts of Central Illinois’ (GSCI) day and overnight summer camp experiences. GSCI will host eight weeks of Day Camp and seven weeks of Overnight Camp at its central Illinois campsites including Camp Widjiwagan in Springfield, Camp Tapawingo in Metamora and Camp Kiwanis in Mahomet.

Registration will remain open until two weeks before the start of each camp. Girls are not required to be current GSCI members to attend camp.  All girls are welcome, and scholarships are available for families who qualify based on the guidelines for reduced or free lunches.

“Girl Scout summer camp is a life-changing experience for girls of all ages, building memories that will last a lifetime,” said GSCI Interim CEO Kelly Day. “We believe every young girl should have the opportunity to participate in camp, make new friends, learn new skills, and foster independence. These are things that will stay with them well beyond their youth and help shape the women they become.”

Each camp location has a unique environment that allows for a variety of summer camp experiences including horse-back riding, canoeing, hiking, ropes courses, and dozens of outdoor adventures.

The 2024 camps will open June 9h and will run through August 2nd.
