168th Macon County Fair to kick off June 5th

May 28, 2024 – The Macon County Fair will kick off its 168th year of agriculture shows, music, a rodeo, harness racing, and more from June 5th to June 9th.

Wednesday, June 5 

  • Gates Open: 2:30 pm – 9:30 pm 
  • No Shuttle Service 
  • Senior Day (65 & Over): Present ID for Free Admission 

4:00pm – Downstate Classic Harness Racing at the Grandstand.  

7:00pm – Macon County Queen Pageant & Parade of Princesses at the Dunn Company Community Building 

Thursday, June 6 

  • Gates Open: 3:00 pm – 9:30 pm 
  • Shuttle: 3:30 pm – 10:30 pm 

6pm – Ranch Horse Sorting Competition at the East Arena
6:00 pm | East Arena 

7:00pm – The Marshall Tucker Band 

Friday, June 7 

  • Gates Open: 3:00 pm – 9:30 pm 
  • Shuttle: 3:30 pm – 10:30 pm 

6:00pm D&D Pro Rodeo Company/Latting Exposition – Bareback, Saddle Bronc, Bull Riding, Steer Wrestling, Tie Down, Girls Breakaway, Team Roping and Girls Barrel Racing at the Grandstand. 

9:30 pm-11:30 pm- Rodeo After Party – Dun Company Community Building
 

Saturday, June 8 

  • Gates Open : 10:00 am – 9:30 pm 
  • Shuttle : 10:00 am – 11:00-pmVeteran’s Day – Present Military ID for Free Admission 

9:00am – New! Open Class Rabbit Show and Poultry Show at Beck Tech building 

9:00 am – Decatur Trail Riders Speed Jackpot Show at East Arena 

10:30 am – Jr. Jackpot Swine Show – Warren Meyers Livestock Barn 

11:00am – Children’s Fun & Education Area and 1st Community Science Fair 

11:00am – Big Ten Standardbred Harness Racing – Grandstand 

11:00am sign up – Beer & Bags Tournament at Ag Expo Building. Tournament starts at noon. 

1:00 pm – Kid’s Ag Olympics at the Dunn Company Community Building 

7:00 pm – ITPA Truck & Tractor Pulls at the Grandstand
 

Sunday, June 9 

  • Gates Open: 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm 
  • Shuttle: 10:00 am – 10:00 pm 
  • First Responders/Medical Personnel Day- Present ID for Free Admission 

9:00am – Decatur Trail Riders Pleasure Jackpot Show at the East Arena  

9:30am – Jr. Jackpot Swine Show – Warren Meyers Livestock Barn 

10am – Jr. Jackpot Beef Show – Dipper Barn 

10:00 am – Community Worship Service – Illini Congregational Church (Non-Denominational)
Music by Avenue Gospel Trio at the Dunn Company Community Building 

5:00pm – Demolition Derby – Grandstand
